Principles of Information Dissemination
Official statistics ensure equal, simultaneous, and uniform access to statistical data for all users.
Individual and personal data collected and gathered in official statistical surveys are subject to special protection. They are covered by statistical confidentiality, which means they cannot be disclosed or published—they are used exclusively for statistical compilations, aggregations, analyses, and for creating survey sampling frames by the official statistics service.
- Aggregated data also cannot be published or made available if there is a possibility of identifying a specific person or economic entity. In the case of individual data, this means that information describing the economic performance of business entities cannot be disclosed if the aggregation includes fewer than 3 entities, or if a single entity accounts for more than three-quarters (3/4) of the total.
- Orders for unpublished data and information from official registers are provided on a fee basis. The basis for calculating the cost of data dissemination is the currently applicable "Price list for services provided by the official statistics service" ("Cennik za usługi świadczone przez służby statystyki publicznej").
Scope and Form of Information Dissemination
The scope and form of disseminated statistical information are defined by the Statistical Surveys Programme of Official Statistics, approved annually by the Council of Ministers.
All other data aggregations not specified in the Programme may be prepared (while maintaining statistical confidentiality) upon special request by the user and on a paid basis.
Information is made available by the Statistical Information Centre in the following forms:
- publications (information materials and reports)
- press releases and information published in mass media
