Business Tendency Research Centre
The Business Tendency Research Centre is a specialised unit operating within the organisational structure of the Statistical Office in Zielona Góra, established by the President of Statistics Poland (GUS). The Centre’s purpose is to carry out nationwide tasks for official statistics as a whole in the field of economic business tendency research. The Centre is responsible for conducting business tendency surveys, in particular:
- performing organisational, conceptual, methodological, and design-programming work related to qualitative business tendency surveys,
- cooperating with units of the official statistics service, including:
- cooperation with GUS author departments in methodological work related to business cycle surveys, as well as providing comments and opinions on survey questionnaires, methodological guidelines, and IT systems used in surveys,
- cooperating with design and programming teams,
- conducting analytical work in the field of qualitative business cycle research,
- monitoring demand for information on economic sentiment and business cycles,
- developing, expanding, and promoting thematic databases related to business cycle statistics,
- cooperating with research institutions and other organisations dealing with business cycle analysis,
- participating in seminars, workshops, conferences, and meetings of working and task groups within the Office’s area of specialisation.
