Mission
The Statistical Office in Zielona Góra is part of Poland’s official statistics service, operating under the authority of the Central Statistical Office (Statistics Poland). Its activities are based on:
- the Act of 29 June 1995 on Official Statistics (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 773);
- the Statute of the Statistical Office in Zielona Góra, constituting an annex to Order No. 8 of the President of the Central Statistical Office of 18 June 2012 on granting the statute to the Statistical Office in Zielona Góra (Official Journal of the Central Statistical Office of 26 June 2012, item 26, as amended);
- the Office’s Organizational Regulations, introduced by Internal Order No. 9 of the Director of the Statistical Office in Zielona Góra of 9 March 2022;
- the Act of 21 November 2008 on the Civil Service (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2022, item 1691, as amended).
In accordance with the above-mentioned regulations, the main responsibilities of the Statistical Office in Zielona Góra include:
- collecting data, including data from public administration information systems, as well as compiling, processing, and analysing statistical data;
- carrying out tasks arising from the Statistical Surveys Programme of Official Statistics and the methodological work plan;
- conducting and implementing national population censuses and other large-scale surveys within the territory of the Lubusz Voivodeship;
- disseminating and publishing official statistical information concerning the Lubusz Voivodeship;
- maintaining and servicing national official registers within the Lubusz Voivodeship.

The Office specializes in carrying out nationwide tasks on behalf of Poland’s official statistics service in the field of agricultural business tendency surveys as well as economic sentiment surveys conducted using the business tendency test method. These surveys cover the manufacturing, construction, trade, and other service sectors, as well as agricultural holdings.
